The Buddhist Literature: Online Teaching 

  





Tripitakas of Buddhism-

The Buddhist Literature are mainly collection of three pitakas that is sutta pitaka,Vinaya pitaka and abhidhamma pitaka
Sutta pitaka-This is a collection of Buddha's sermons and is divided into 5groups or Nikayas i.e the Digha Nikayas the Madhyakami Nikayas  the samakhya Nikayas the anguttara Nikayas the Khuddaka Nikayas
The Vinaya pitaka-This contains the rules and regulations of monastic disciplines for the monks.
This pitaka divided into 5 groups namely maha varga,kausulak varga,paachata varga,parajika varga, Parivar varga
Tha Abhidhamma pitaka- This pitaka contains profound philosophies of the Buddha's teachings. 
In addition to this there are also other Buddhist Literatures namely The Jatakas, the Budhhavamsa,Milinda panho, the ceylonese chronicles.
